Computer Science and related fields have become a pivot of attention for fresh FSC graduates for many reasons, some of which are listed below.
Rapid Expansion
IT fields in the current Pakistan have expanded exponentially. The whole Information Technology sector is experiencing a rapid expansion. Currently theres a massive shortage of IT professionals in Pakistan, caused by the rapid expansion mentioned above.
Reliable Career
It has always been seen as a reliable career pathway for the chaps who are good with computers. Skill-based hiring and mass recruitments have proven IT to be a very reliable career path. A BS degree in any IT field has a very good employment rate.
Salary Expectations
For fresh graduates just out of university, IT has offered brilliant salary packages. The starting salaries being 60,000 PKR – 120,000. Once again, I must put forward the fact that your salary may not just depend on your BS degree. Skill is just as important as your degree

Top Universities for IT fields (Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc).
Keep in mind that I am heavily relying on world QS rankings and locally available data to rate these universities.
1. FAST-NUCES
For IT related fields this university can be regarded as one of the “ Pakistani Ivy Leagues “. With campuses in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and, Faisalabad, this university offers exceptional programming modules and an insanely high placement rate due to their highly stretched Alumini network

Fast – Nuces is an exceptional choice for gifted students. The overall degree in Computer Science is hard and has rigorous testing, assigments and projects in it. This is how it maintains its industry worth and prepares its students for their career.
2. NUST (NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY)
Located in Islamabad, NUST is one of the most famous and prestigious universities in Pakistan. Sitting in the capital of Pakistan, it has become a centre of diversity, education and character building. While its Computer Science BS fields are not as intense, it offers a balance of quality education and university life. You can participate in events, join clubs and still ace your exams.

It ranks as the #1 university in Pakistan.

Again, NUST is a very competitive and a sought after university. For Computer Science related fields, you do not necessarily need to study from the best university there is. You just need to get the degree from whichever university suits you best. NUST is highly recommended if you can meet its strict admission requirements and pass its entry tests.
3. LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences)
LUMS is a bit different from the universities mentioned above for many reasons; it rather than having rigorous programming and examinations focuses on nurturing qualities like leadership into their students. Its a perfect environment for entrepreneurs. It is also a very famous institution. But it’s education is a bit different from the above universities for the reasons I already explained.

SBASSE Subject Test: High performance in the Math and Physics/Chemistry modules. |
| Application Profile Components | • Complete Online Application• Multi-paragraph Personal Statement• Teacher Recommendation Letters | Extracurricular Portfolio: Active participation in debates, coding clubs, sports, internships, or social work. |
LUMS is very holistic when it comes to applications, they check your internships, certificates, exams. But the best way is to have an international standardized test like SAT. A 1400+ in SAT can make you highly competitive for admission into universities like LUMS.
